Introducing the RAD RAMBLER! I am seriously so in love with this house, you guys! So much so that the popcorn ceilings don’t even bother me one little bit! Okay, maybe just a little.
This house, which I have named the ‘Rad Rambler’, was built in 1962 and almost nothing has been updated. YAY! Seriously, I LOVE love the mid-century vibes.
These are the real estate listing photos:
We just started our kitchen/dining room renovation, yesterday! We’re basically updating everything- tile, cabinets, countertops, lighting, etc. And getting rid of those popcorn ceilings, asap.
The living room will probably stay pretty much the same, except for new lighting, and again… getting rid of the popcorn ceilings. I’m still debating on whether or not to paint the brick on the fireplace and entryway white. Once we tackle the kitchen, I’ll revisit the idea.
The bedrooms are basically all blank canvases, which I love! It’ll be fun to see how they all turn out and showcase all of our different personalities!
I seriously love it so much! … yes, even the wood panelling and pink bathtub, although I’m not sure how long they’ll be around. I do have big plans for updating every room, but I’m on a budget so I think it’ll probably be a slow process and I’m totally okay with that!
One of the main reasons we sold our last house was because we wanted to downsize. We had WAY too much room in our last house and we just kept accumulating more and more stuff that we didn’t need! Our last house was almost double the square footage of this one and although this one has a lot less space, the space that it does have just works so much better! The rooms are roomier and the layout just flows so well.
As far as plans for renovating/decorating goes… I’m not even sure what my style is and I don’t even care! The one thing I’m really trying to do with the Rad Rambler is only have pieces that I truly love. Whether a piece “goes” or is right for the space is secondary to wether I love it or not. So far, it’s working… it feels more like home than anywhere else ever has!
I can’t wait for you guys to see what I do with this space!
Stay tuned!
XOXO
