This DIY All Purpose Cleaner is my all time favorite cleaner for every day messes. I swear, between the kids and the dog, I am wiping up one thing or another at least 400 billion times a day. Not an exaggeration.
This DIY all purpose cleaner works on pretty much everything from counter tops to baseboards. When I’m feeling like a real go getter (read: when we’re having guests over.) I use it to wipe down my walls and doors, too.
I love that it doesn’t smell harsh like a lot of other cleaners. You can’t even smell the vinegar! All you smell once it’s dry is a light lemon scent. So fancy!
It is really easy to make and the ingredients are some that you probably already have on hand.
The only thing I didn’t already have was the lemon essential oil, but it was easy enough to find. You could always substitute the oil for fresh squeezed lemon if you wanted.
Simply add the ingredients to an empty spray bottle. Be carful when adding the baking soda to the vinegar. Add it slowly so it doesn’t foam up and spill all over the place, because….science.
I may or may not have learned this lesson the hard way.
Now, just spray the cleaner onto the surface you’d like cleaned and wipe with a clean rag.
Maybe one day when I can keep at least one surface in my house clean longer than 3.2 seconds, I’ll share a sparkling clean ‘after’ photo. Until then, you’re just gonna have to trust me on this one. This stuff seriously works.
