It’ll come as no surprise to you guys that I’m legitimately obsessed with my Cricut Maker… I talk about it all the time on my instagram!
I knew exactly what I wanted to make but since I am such a noob I was honestly a little nervous about how it would turn out.
First of all, I’ve never uploaded my own artwork into design space so I had no idea what to expect. You guys! It was insanely easy! I can’t believe it has taken me so long to try this. I created the design using picmonkey, saved as a .png with transparent background and easily uploaded it straight to Cricut Design Space.

To make such a big piece you have to cut multiple sheets of vinyl and then patch them together using transfer tape and then apply it to the board. I watched a YouTube video and it helped so much! It’s seriously so much easier than I expected and anyone could do it. Watch the video HERE.
First, I cut the main board out of quarter inch plywood. You can make it as big or as little as you want. Mine is pretty big… 31″x25″. To get the white washed look, I mixed white acrylic paint with water till it was consistency of water and then just brushed it on all over the whole board and then wiped it off with a rag. You can also buy white stain if you prefer that.
Once the paint was dry I attached the vinyl to the board. This part was the scariest, but like I said before… it was a lot easier than I anticipated. just make sure it’s centered on the board before you get too serious about it.
Once the vinyl was in place, I cut three-quarter inch square dowels to add to the edges. To attach them I simply glued them in place with wood glue and clamped them down until it was dry.

I added L brackets to the corners just to add a little more dimension. I found them at Home Depot. They were silver originally so I used spray paint to get them gold.

I hung mine over my fireplace but I used the permanent vinyl from Cricut and it’s actually perfect for outside so this would be a great piece to decorate your porch as well.

When I shared a sneak peek of this on my Instagram I actually got multiple messages from people telling me NOT to use a Ouija board. Ha! I’ve not never tried it myself and after those messages I don’t think I will …what about you have you used a Ouija board?
I can’t wait to make even more fun Halloween Decor with Cricut!
